Oct. 26 The West Virginia Division of Culture and History will host a totally adorable Halloween Bash Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Culture Center, down at the State Capitol Complex.  Apparently it’s free to all ghosties and ghouls, the local monsters and haunts of WV are gleefully celebrated, and fabulous prizes are available for the costume contest. 

If that’s not your thing, it seems Applebee’s is hosting a costume contest as well, with the ubiquitous drink specials, 6 pm to close.  Isn’t Wednesday too early in the workweek to usher in the slutty costumes? 

ArtMares 3 opens at 309 Beauregard Street.  From 6 to 9, stop by and check out the creepy products of our local artists’ clever hands and twisted minds!

East End Main Street has put together a badass Murder Mystery Party.  Be at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 6 pm – I hear noms from Bluegrass Kitchen are involved.

Oct. 27  If you miss the opening, you can check out ArtMares 3 tonight, 6 to 9.

Oct. 28  ArtMares 3 will host a free reception, with fancy cheese and everything, on this, their last night.  Penny and Elle will appear along with Pepper Fandango for a mini-session of Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School during the reception.  Don’t miss it!

Local spectacular indie horror film Porkchops premieres tonight at the world famous Empty Glass!  Movie premieres at 10 pm sharp, so don’t be late!  Cover charge is only $5 if you come in costume! Free Jell-o shots!  Snackies!  The Renfields and the Tom McGees!  Penny and Elle will be there, along with local celebrity, the Outlaw Rockstar!

Oct. 29 The Unitarians (God, I love the Unitarians!) are throwing a Witchy Weekend at 520 Kanawha Boulevard, starting with a Psychic Fair from 12 – 5, and you can’t miss these sweet deals at just $10 per service!  A drum circle commences at 5:30 and continues until 6:45 for those inclined, and the Witches’ Ball takes over at 7 pm, continuing to 11 pm.  Admission to the ball is $8, $5 with costume, and there!  are!  fabulous prizes! 

This year East End Main Street and Halloweast bring to you the 2nd Annual Zombie Walk!  Walk begins at 6 pm, line forms at 5:30 pm!  If you need someone to do your makeup, head to the WV Power Clubhouse conference room as early as 5 pm. 

Also back for the second year is the Halloweast Costume Ball, starting at 7 pm.  2 live DJs and drink specials, and the first-ever Dead Sexy Zombie Pageant.
