Flesh Rot: New WV Horror Web Series Kicks off with Sexy Zombies!

Penny Maple Rea Gunne Ashley Metheney Zombie Girls

Jaclyn Policastro, Rea Gunne, Ashley Metheney and Penny Maple are famous. Original photos by Robert Saunders, photo of photos by Cindy Keeney-Negley.

Our dear friend Adam Edwards shot the first scenes of Atomic Beast Studios ‘Flesh Rot’ (working title), an epic genre-spanning web series, nearly a month ago on June 23.  I love Adam and I love WV horror, so I was there in my official capacity as wardrobe madam and PA, pestering the makeup team, painting tentacles and generally having a grand old time.  Not to give too much away, but some stars went off to the location to get intimate with the aforementioned tentacles and I turned into a zombie (that’s so Penny, I know!) Vid or it didn’t happen!

Penny Maple Pepper Fandango Burlesque dance Charleston WV

Pepper Fandango and Penny Maple finally have a little something something to share with all our friends who have missed our burlesque dance shows around Charleston, WV!  Thanks to Mr. Chase Henderson, local Dr. Sketchy’s mad professor, who recorded our new burly-q act when we opened for Dangerous Curves Ahead: Burlesque on the Go-Go at Charleston, WV’s world-famous Empty Glass.  Chase thinks the video could have turned out better, but we love it!  It was a packed show in a tiny venue and Chase did a fantastic job of capturing our particular brand of frenetic, messy burlesque dance – and you should tell him so!

Click on the NSFW unlisted youtube link and enjoy Pepper Fandango and Penny Maple, burlesquing to the Pepper Fandango Band’s crowd pleaser, ‘Scotch Whiskey’!

*Edit: I’m a jackass.  This was the first time Pepper and I have been joined by the rest of the Pepper Fandango Band, and I owe them a huge thanks.  Drummer Dave Roberts and bassist Andy Jones didn’t get a chance to practice with us beforehand, but you couldn’t tell, could you?   I hope it’s not the last time they join us on stage!

The Rebirth of Bump and Grind

Penny and Pepper perform 'Makeout Bandit' at Kanawha Players Theatre. Photo by Russi Seacrist.

Charleston’s Burlesque Revival has been gestating since winter, and by my calculations should be crowning sometime late next month.

Who do we have to blame for this delicious descent into hedonism?  It might seem like Pepper and I are guilty as sin, but I think we can trace it to Chase Henderson, local Dr. Sketchy’s mad professor.  Sketchy’s, for the uninitiated, is a burlesque figure drawing class, and Chase has been hinting from the beginning that he wouldn’t mind some real live burlesquing at our monthly art class. This is a maaaaan’s world… but it wouldn’t be nothing, nothing without a woman or a girl..

Reblogging my sistah from anotha mistah’s horrorful truth.  Recent legislation seems to me a vicious attack on womanhood, right there in the public arena for all of us to see.  And these old white dudes are like, “What?  Bitch.”  Like they don’t know I’m hard.  Cocksucker motherfuckers, stay the hell away from my vagina!
