The Rebirth of Bump and Grind
Charleston’s Burlesque Revival has been gestating since winter, and by my calculations should be crowning sometime late next month.
Who do we have to blame for this delicious descent into hedonism? It might seem like Pepper and I are guilty as sin, but I think we can trace it to Chase Henderson, local Dr. Sketchy’s mad professor. Sketchy’s, for the uninitiated, is a burlesque figure drawing class, and Chase has been hinting from the beginning that he wouldn’t mind some real live burlesquing at our monthly art class. Horrorful News Bites!
Tonight, The Empty Glass is hosting a screening of Porkchops, an Eamon Hardiman film starring our very own Penny Maple and Elle Xohmbeah. Be there at 9:30 for an entertaining night filled with local horror comedy! It’s only $5 for some kickass entertainment by The Tom McGees and the Dinosaur Burps in addition to the director’s cut screening. Round out the evening by taking part in the Official Porkchops Drinking Game! You won’t want to miss this!
