As we’re a teeny little blog that’s churned out a mere handful of articles since the Halloween season ended, we’re a little surprised that we were invited to be special guests at Trillium Performing Arts’ Women in Horror Recognition Month event, Saturday Night (un)Dead next Saturday in Lewisburg. At least, I was. Special guest? Me??? Surely someone deserves it more than me! Then I remembered that we’re awesome and we do all sorts of awesome horror-related things like gorelesque burly q performances, creepy photo shoots and art classes, movies and writing…pretty much anything we can get our bloody little paws on. So I squished all those stupid butterflies in my stomach, dammit, ’cause half the state can draw me naked from memory and I’ve already watched Twin Peaks twice this year; I’m ready for anything. The Barn at the End of the Street: The Haunted Barn Moves to Charleston
The Haunted Barn has landed! Last year, Penny and Elle were lucky enough to visit the last incarnation of West Virginia’s premiere haunt in Winfield. What does the future hold for the Barn in the warehouse at the end of Beauregard Street?
The Haunted Barn began in 2001 as a family-and-friend event by Halloween loving folks on Lee Jordan’s land. For eleven years, the Haunted Barn crew opened their barn to the guys and ghouls of the world. Patrolman Josh Harper and his group of CEOs, Cameron Goode, David Bowles and Josh’s cousin, Lee Jordan, have seen it grow to what we deemed the vanguard of haunts in 2011. Then the derecho of June 29th came. Continue Reading →
