Penny Maple Pepper Fandango Burlesque dance Charleston WV

Pepper Fandango and Penny Maple finally have a little something something to share with all our friends who have missed our burlesque dance shows around Charleston, WV!  Thanks to Mr. Chase Henderson, local Dr. Sketchy’s mad professor, who recorded our new burly-q act when we opened for Dangerous Curves Ahead: Burlesque on the Go-Go at Charleston, WV’s world-famous Empty Glass.  Chase thinks the video could have turned out better, but we love it!  It was a packed show in a tiny venue and Chase did a fantastic job of capturing our particular brand of frenetic, messy burlesque dance – and you should tell him so!

Click on the NSFW unlisted youtube link and enjoy Pepper Fandango and Penny Maple, burlesquing to the Pepper Fandango Band’s crowd pleaser, ‘Scotch Whiskey’!

*Edit: I’m a jackass.  This was the first time Pepper and I have been joined by the rest of the Pepper Fandango Band, and I owe them a huge thanks.  Drummer Dave Roberts and bassist Andy Jones didn’t get a chance to practice with us beforehand, but you couldn’t tell, could you?   I hope it’s not the last time they join us on stage!

Dr. Sketchy’s at ArtMares 3 Reception

Penny and Mr. Tofujitsu, Sean Richardson

The ArtMares 3 reception was Friday night at Kanawha Players, the third and final night of the horror and fantasy-themed art show.  Penny and Elle were there along with Pepper Fandango and Suzie Sketchman to class the joint up even more!  It’s not easy to blog about an event where you appear as the entertainment, but we did it for you.  We grabbed a plastic cup of red wine and scampered up and down staircases, squealing with delight like school children. The World Premiere of PORKCHOPS!

The cast and crew onstage for the Q&A

If you went to the premiere of Porkchops Friday night at 10 pm at the Empty Glass, you know what a fantastic hot mess of horror it was!  If not – shame on you for not supporting Razor Sharp Studios and your own Penny and Elle!  Fortunately for you, we have DVDs for sale.  Continue Reading →

Last Sunday was the Halloween edition of Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School featuring our very own Penny and Elle with the lovely Lavender Menace as zombie pin-ups devouring their helpless victim, Sarkany.  Being a fan of both zombies and pin-ups, I was looking forward to an evening of sketching and fun.
