Our dear friend Adam Edwards shot the first scenes of Atomic Beast Studios ‘Flesh Rot’ (working title), an epic genre-spanning web series, nearly a month ago on June 23. I love Adam and I love WV horror, so I was there in my official capacity as wardrobe madam and PA, pestering the makeup team, painting tentacles and generally having a grand old time. Charleston’s Burlesque Revival has been gestating since winter, and by my calculations should be crowning sometime late next month.

Who do we have to blame for this delicious descent into hedonism? It might seem like Pepper and I are guilty as sin, but I think we can trace it to Chase Henderson, local Dr. Sketchy’s mad professor. Sketchy’s, for the uninitiated, is a burlesque figure drawing class, and Chase has been hinting from the beginning that he wouldn’t mind some real live burlesquing at our monthly art class.
